A camel ride through the Sahara desert dunes is a must-do for anybody visiting the region. From Marrakech, we are your experts for a 3-day Sahara desert tour. This 3-day/2-night desert tour from Marrakech to Sahara takes you on a breath-taking journey across the mountains in the south of Morocco. We’ll take you off the main path to get a taste of the Merzouga desert. This 3-day, 2-night excursion to Merzouga and Erg Chebbi will introduce you to the breathtaking sights of Morocco’s vast south.
Day1: Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Kasbah Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Your desert tour from Marrakech will depart from your riad or hotel at about 07h30 in the morning.
Our 3 days Morocco desert tour will begin with a drive to Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou. We must first get through the Tizi Ntichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains. There will be numerous stops along the way. Visit the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This magnificent village has also used as a backdrop for a number of Hollywood blockbusters. For lunch, we continue to Ouarzazate. We drive to the oasis of Skoura in the afternoon, which is noted for its Kasbah of Amridil, which is well worth a visit.
We continue our journey from here, passing through the Valley of the Roses and the village of Kalaa Mgouna. The rose distillation companies in this region of Morocco are well-known and very famous. You will have the chance to see some incredible fortified adobe Berber communities called Ksours from your car window and enjoy the incredible landscape. We arrive at our accommodation in Dades Valley at the end of the day.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Tinghir – Merzouga – Ergg Chebbi
After breakfast, travel to Tinghir via the 1001 Kasbahs road. You can take a walk along the Todgha River when you arrive at this wonderful paradise. Visit Ksours and Berber Villages. Only when you reach the beautiful Todgha Canyons’ massive cliffs will you know your morning excursion was well worth it! Before continuing on to Merzouga, stop in the Gorges for a fantastic Berber lunch. Meet your camel caravan when the road ends when you arrive in Erg Chebbi. Ride your camel over the shifting sand dunes to witness one
of the most spectacular sunsets ever. Arrive at your Luxury Sahara desert camp just as the sun sets. After you have settled at your Luxury tent, take a hike up one of the local sand dunes to take in the desert’s tranquility. Under the magic stars, a delicious Moroccan dinner will be served. You will now prepare to put your drumming skills to the test with the nomads. Your camp hosts will entertain you with their Tam-tam drums around the campfire. Take advantage of the nearby dunes, which reveal a spectacular show of shooting stars and crisp constellations.
Overnight at your Luxury Sahara Desert camp
Day 3: Erg Chebbi- Merzouga – Ouarzazate – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
Prepare yourself for a spectacular early morning Erg Chebbi sunrise and a camel ride before meeting your guide.
Drive back to Marrakech over the Anti Atlas Mountains’ volcanic sceneries to the town of Nkob. If you arrive in Ouarzazate, feel free to request that your vehicle stop by the film studios. Lunch can be enjoyed at your leisure in the city center. Continue your journey earlyin the afternoon, passing over the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi Ntichka pass.
Your private three-day desert excursion from Marrakech to Merzouga will end in the evening at your hotel or riad.
